Early in the morning on 7 May, a German battle group with eight Hetzer self-propelled guns and approximately two hundred infantry men managed to break through Dolní Počernice and Běchovice to Hrdlořezy. Penetrating through Malešice, they directly threatened the rebels’ radio broadcast, which was dependent on the Třebešín transmitter. Therefore, the Military Headquarters of Greater Prague – “Bartoš” directed all available reinforcements to Malešice. The rebels’ armoured unit commanded by First Lieutenant Neubauer moved from the Radio in Vinohradská Street to the Třebešín transmitter, and Třebešín was also the objective of the 6th Company of the 2nd Battalion of the 1st Regiment of the 1st Division of the Armed Forces of the Committee for the Liberation of the Peoples of Russia (Vlasovites). After 9 a.m. the Czech and Russian troops together pushed away the German infantry from the Malešice plain to Malešice, preventing their advance to the transmitter or to the rear of the Strašnice defenders. Vlasovites’ anti-tank gun, buried at the Třebešín velodrome, destroyed one Hetzer self propelled gun at the terminal tram stop in Spojovací Street. Vlasovites thus also stopped the advance of the German armoured vehicles along the Český Brod road to Žižkov. After the Czech National Council refused to cooperate with the anti-communist Vlasovites, who eventually left this area around 3 p.m., the German battle group was only able to recover the advance along Českobrodská Street, currently Koněvova Street, and after 3 p.m. to connect school with the garrison of the Na Pražačce school. However, the leaving Vlasovites provided the transmitter defenders with over sixty panzerfausts.
