Partisan sabotage actions
Towards the end of World War II, the area around Zborov was home to the partisan group Jiskra, (Spark). It was led by František Fabiánek, its members were four Russian soldiers and several inhabitants of Zborov, including Ladislav Minař. He helped the others build a bunker in the forest, he carried food, and sometimes took part in sabotage actions: “Some of the paratroopers had acquaintances in the Railways, so they knew when a military train was supposed to be passing by. One night we loosened the tracks in the bend at Ruda nad Moravou, and when the train came along through the dark, the centrifugal forced sent it flying out of the tracks and straight into the river.”
