The first written mention related to Slavíkov may be found in the letter of complaints to the Konstanz Council of 1415. This document cites the name of Václav Slavík ze Slavíkova, the owner of a stronghold and manor house in Slavíkov. The clan of the Slavíkovci was able to hold their foot in their family castle until the 17th century. The last Slavíkovec was Jan, who was sentenced to vassalage after the battle for White Mountain (1624). The stronghold ceased to exist soon after the merger of the lands of the Slavíkovci with the Studenecké dominion (1709). No remnants of the stronghold has been preserved and today, nobody even knows exactly where it stood. Today, the settlement counts about 300 inhabitants. A modern building accommodating a seniors’ home was built on the foundations of the former school building.
