The Czechoslovak Soviet Socialist Republic

Dostupné v: English | Česky

On 21 August, 1968, the troops of the Warsaw Pact arrived at the garrison of the border guard in Domažlice, where they were encountered by two military tanks. The locals were spitting on the occupiers from their windows in protest. However, as they started considering their future, the atmosphere began to change. The presence of the Soviet troops became an everyday reality. However, some resistance remained. An officer of the border guard, Dalibor Plšek, refused to yield to the Soviet occupation. “I got reprimanded after I said that it was time to rename our country the Czechoslovakian Soviet Socialist Republic,” Dalibor Plšek recalled. He committed another offence when he refused to sit in on vetting committees that were supposed to get rid of dissenting colleagues. Therefore, he was expelled from the Communist Party and in October 1973 dismissed from his unit.

Pod brigádu spadaly podřízené pohraniční prapory a roty.
